Here are a number of my personal favorite photographs. I travel often, and occasionally I end up with some incredible pictures.

This first one was taken on a week long trip to California/Nevada/Utah. The goal was to hit some National Parks. My hiking partner flaked out on me, and I had to re-arrange my schedule a bit after making the less-than-intelligent decision to hike alone in Joshua Tree NP, in August. The cooler parts of the park was around 103 degrees. I ended up with Heat Stroke and severe dehydration. No more hiking alone for me. I changed the schedule a bit and thought I'd go meet a friend I'd met the previous year in Death Valley. Turns out Death Valley bartenders go work at Grand Canyon in the hottest parts of the year. So, I asked around, and was told this little State Park on the west side of Death Valley was beautiful and so that's where I headed. Oddly, the name of this mountain range is called "Alabama Mountains" and to this day, its still one of my favorite pictures.
The year before, I did the National Parks from L.A. to the Oregon Border. I wasn't expecting the snow, and it seriously effected my hiking plans. I knew there would be some snow at the peaks, but I didn't realize that the best National Parks are at such high altitudes. For an obsessive planner like myself, this was very disheartening. However, I probably would have never gotten this photo, if anything had been different. I also saw a wolf about an hour before this picture, so I was pretty stoked. Didn't get a picture of the wolf (he wasn't much for posing), but I love this photo.
Paris is like living art. The city is beautiful. The buildings, the fountains, the parks and of course its major landmarks. We were trying to find a shortcut to the Eiffel Tower rather than go the way we'd seen previously. We found it at the end of this little side street and the framing between the buildings and the tree was perfect.
Death Valley gets a bad name. Well, I suppose its accurate as getting lost hiking here could be a death sentence. But it is beautiful. The mountains are different colors depending on the minerals in the rocks. The salt flats are very unique. And I took a thousand pictures here. This is probably not my favorite, but I love the simplicity of this one. Plus I'm a sucker for a filtered sun over mountains :)
Bok Tower in Florida is a photographers dream. Impossible to take a bad picture here. Its a botanical garden plus artistic bell tower. The design of the tower is unique and when you get closer you can see all the different detail and all the different building materials used to create it. I was particularly impressed with the cast iron designs on the fencing around the base.
I spent 5 weeks in Guatemala in 2010. I spent 4 of those weeks living in Quetzeltanga going to school and doing various side trips. The 5th week I went to Antigua, stayed at the Gato Negro (Black Cat) Hostel and checking out the Jade Factory and Colonial architecture. On the final day, I hiked (with the help of a horse aka:Taxi) to the top of the Pacaya Volcano where you could roast marshmallows over an open lava pit! The eruptions were regular and best seen after dark and my photos weren't very good. However, while I was clicking away in one direction, the Volcan de Fuego decided to give us a little show of its own. The smoke plume up against the setting sun was incredible. This hike was very difficult, and hiking down in the dark was equally unpleasant. However, the view up here was worth every bit of strained muscles, lava abrasions and stubbed toes.
Zion National Park is beautiful around every turn. Its actually difficult to put your camera down for a second in order to make progress on your hike. The day I went, the sky was the perfect shade of blue and it brought out the greens and reds in the natural landscape. It was very beautiful.
We did a few days in Iceland as part of an Iceland tourist promotion. These falls were on the traditional Golden Circle Tour and for the money (especially considering Iceland's -at the time - cost of living) we couldn't have asked for better. This was just one of the wonders of Iceland we got to see that day.
We spent 3 days at the Tortugero National Park, and on the third day, our boat dropped us off for some hiking on this little piece of land. It was an amazing day. We saw monkeys, 3 different snakes (including the eye lash viper), a tarantula, and the turtle tracks from the nests. This beach is completely natural, completely unspoiled by Holiday Inns and Tiki Bars. This is natures true beach.
